Event narrative
More than 2 dozen pine trees of 1 to 2 ft. diameter snapped or fell, as well as a 3.5 to 4 ft. diameter tree that fell and demolished a fence. A tree fell on a power line in Central Point, which destroyed a mobile home and caused a 15 acre wildfire.

With a persistent area of low pressure still centered offshore of southern Oregon and far northern California, mid-level moisture moving northward with an unstable air mass lead to the development of a severe thunderstorm with strong straight line, downdraft winds in the Rogue Valley cities of Phoenix, and Central Point.
