A 59 MPH wind gust was reported at the Montague Airport with the passage of an outflow boundary from a nearby thunderstorm. No damage was reported.

An area of low pressure centered offshore of southern Oregon and far northern California sent mid-level moisture northward and created an unstable air mass, leading to the development of a severe thunderstorm with strong straight line, downdraft winds in the Shasta Valley city of Montague.
