Two large trees were snapped at the base by thunderstorm wind gusts at consecutive properties along Cedar Creek Road in Pikeville. The locations along the road were not given.

Wider weather episode

A stationary boundary set up along the Ohio River, allowing for afternoon convection to start popping along the boundary and just south in the warm sector. This included portions of northeast Kentucky. Several storms became strong, and ultimately three instances of wind damage were reported during the mid-afternoon hours. Storms then diminished heading into the evening hours with loss of afternoon heat and mixing.
