Some improvement from Extreme Drought (D3) to Severe Drought (D2) was experienced at the beginning of the month but otherwise, drought conditions persisted through the county. Water tanks were brought into the town of Thomas WV when the water in the city's reservoir was deemed unsafe due to high concentrations of iron and low water levels.
