Event narrative

The Gardner Wildfire began in short grass and sagebrush on August 3rd about 3 miles northwest of Picabo and burned 1,160 acres. It was determined to be a human caused start. Full containment was reached on the 7th with about 750 thousand dollars spent to contain it with a Type 3 team.
