Iced over roads and black ice reported on Idaho Highway 75 between Hailey and Bellevue with multiple spinouts and slide offs near the Woodside Boulevard intersection. Freezing fog and drizzle caused the black ice.

Three hours plus of 1/4 mile visibility or less and 2 to 4 inches of snow causing extensive blowing and drifting closed State Highway 75 north of Shoshone to Timmerman Hill. Blaine County Schools were closed due to the blizzard.

Snow caused icy roads and a multi vehicle crash on Highway 75 near the Gimlet subdivision including a Mountain rides bus at around 6:41 AM MST. Several people were taken to St Luke's Hospital in Ketchum. About 3 inches of snow fell in the Hailey region.

Lightning caused a 5 acre fire 1 mile northeast of Hailey and prompted some evacuations in Hailey. Rain overnight on August 5th and 6th helped suppression and no structures were affected. The fire was controlled on the 6th and contained on the 7th.
