Sustained winds of 35 to 45 mph persisted throughout much of the afternoon and early evening hours across Dodge County on December 4th. Additionally, a peak non-thunderstorm wind gust of 61 mph was measured by a Minnesota Department of Transportation weather observation station near Byron.

During the afternoon and evening hours on December 5th, a strong arctic cold front swept across the region bringing wind gusts to southeast Minnesota as high as 62 mph at Rochester International Airport. When encountering strong winds, a semi-trailer in Fillmore County was blown over resulting in two non-life threatening injuries to the occupants.
