Event narrative

High winds developed during the overnight hours of November 18th and continued into the morning of November 19th. Winds at Teller (PATE) gusted as high as 66 mph, while at Wales (PAIW) wind gusts to 73 mph.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure system moved east out of Siberia and across the Chukchi Sea bringing strong and gusty winds, moderate to heavy snow, as well as blizzard conditions to the West Coast, Brooks Range and Arctic Coast.
