Wider weather episode
A nor'easter moved up the east coast of the U.S. on the 19th, strengthening as it passed southeast of southern New England. This system was largely unremarkable with mostly sub-warning snowfall amounts in the 4-6 inch range. The exception was in far northeastern MA where 6-7 inches fell. Totals decreased toward Cape Cod canal and on the Cape only less than an inch was measured as precipitation fell as rain for most of the event. This event happened from late Sunday evening through before sunrise Monday morning causing some minimal slow downs but the fact that it was a holiday weekend helped reduce the impact.
