Event narrative

The Point Saint George buoy (46027) and the Umpqua Offshore buoy (46229) reported swell sufficient to generate high surf. Surf heights reached 25 to 30 feet. Waves were highest on south facing beaches.

Wider weather episode

A strong, deep area of low pressure moving northeast toward Vancouver Island brought high surf to the southern Oregon coast.
