A 14 year old female recreating on the beach 3S Bandon died of injuries sustained when a sneaker wave caused a log to roll onto her.

Two people were swept into the ocean by a sneaker wave at 15/1300 PST. The 31 year old male and his 3 year old son have not been found as of 31/0800 PST. The beach on which they were walking had a steep angle to the water and the seas were reported to be rough.

High winds were reported at Long Prairie RAWS with peak speeds 38 mph gusting to 82 mph. Also, Beaver Hill with a peak of 37 mph gusting to 68 mph, and Port Orford at 59 mph gusting to 76 mph.

Port Orford mesonet reported peak south winds of 47 mph gusting to 61 mph. A peak gust of 61 mph was also reported by the Long Prairie RAWS.
