Event narrative
The Cape Blanco buoy (46015) and the Umpqua Offshore buoy (46229) reported swell sufficient to generate high surf. Surf heights reached 28 to 33 feet. Waves were highest on west facing beaches.
Wider weather episode
A very strong low moving northeast toward the northern Oregon coast brought high surf to the southern Oregon coast.
