Event narrative

The Point Saint George buoy (46027), Cape Blanco buoy (46015), and the Umpqua Offshore buoy (46229) reported swell sufficient to generate high surf. Surf heights reached 25 to 31 feet. Waves were highest on west facing beaches.

Wider weather episode

A strong, deep area of low pressure moving east toward Vancouver Island brought high surf to the southern Oregon coast.
