Overnight low temperatures fell to near -20 F across central Carbon County from 1/20 into 1/21. The combination of cold temperatures and gusty winds resulted in a prolonged period of extreme wind chills under -30 F. Minimum observed wind chill values reached -45 F at the Rawlins Airport at 7:35 AM MST on 1/20.

A strong arctic front brought prolonged frigid temepratures to southeast Wyoming Friday, January 17 through the early morning of Tuesday, January 21. The coldest temperatures occured Sunday night and Monday night.
