Event narrative
Multiple sensors recorded wind gusts between 55 and 60 MPH along Interstate 80. A UPR sensor (14 WSW Cheyenne) recorded a maximum wind gust of 59 MPH on 1/23.
Wider weather episode
An incoming cold front lead to a strong pressure gradient over much of southeast Wyoming. This lead to high winds in the usual wind prone areas as well as some adjacent areas.
