Event narrative
An isolated area of heavy snowfall occurred along the terrain ridge near Grand Marais during the passage of a clipper. While most accumulations in the region were under 6 inches, a high report of 8 inches was received from just north east of Grand Marais.

A clipper system brought snowfall to much of northeastern Minnesota starting on the afternoon of the 3rd and persisting into the early morning hours of 5th. Snowfall totals were generally under 6 inches across the region, but some isolated higher amounts to 8 inches were reported in Cook County along the terrain ridge near Grand Marais.
