The June Lake SNOTEL at 3440 ft recorded 15 inches of snowfall between 0600 12/25 and 0100 12/26 with 12 inches of snow hit at 2200 12/25, the Spencer Meadow SNOTEL at 3400 ft recorded 15 inches of snowfall between 0800 12/25 and 0000 12/26 with 12 inches of snow hit at 2200 12/25, and finally the Lone Pine SNOTEL at 3940 ft recorded 19 inches of snow between 1300 12/25 and 1100 12/26 with 12 inches hit at 2300 12/25.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold frontal boundary followed by an unsettled period of lower snow-level and the arrival of a potent secondary low pressure system brought heavy snow to the Cascades and high winds to the coast.
