Calming winds and clearing skies allowed for freezing fog development in far northern portions of Southern Illinois near the I-64 corridor. Visibility dropped to under a quarter mile at times during the pre-dawn and early morning hours at Fairfield Municipal Airport and Mount Carmel Municipal Airport as temperatures fell to the low single digits to near 0. Coverage of freezing fog was more widespread further north/east outside the coverage area including at Flora and Vincennes.
