High gust measured by a sensor 5 miles east of Canaan Heights over the period of the event.

A broad, low amplitude longwave trough helped to induce a 50 knot 850mb jet. This was unable to mix down efficiently in most areas, but did induce strong surface wind gusts in the higher elevations of eastern Tucker County.
