Event narrative
Pacific Union Railroad observation west of Cheyenne reported a peak gust of 63 mph. A few other sites reported gusts of 58 mph in the area.
Wider weather episode
After a brief lull of the winds and after some snowfall across southern Wyoming. Even stronger winds developed mainly across the Interstate 80 corridor from southeast Wyoming into the southern Nebraska Panhandle. Strong gusty winds were observed further north in Niobrara County also.
