What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

The tornado began on Chaney Road, barely on the Clinton County side of the county line, where roof damage was observed on an outbuilding. On Weisflock Road, a barn was overturned and large tree limbs were knocked over. The last damage was observed on Oakgrove Road, where a barn was destroyed and tree damage was noted.

Thunderstorms developed during the late evening and continued into the overnight hours as a strong low pressure system lifted northeast through the Ohio Valley.
