Event narrative

NWS storm survey concluded an EF-1 tornado touched down in southern Jefferson County. The tornado mostly produced tree damage and minor structural damage. The highest degree of damage occurred at its beginning where it caused two homes to slide off their foundations. The tornado had max winds of 105mph, was 4.9 miles long, and had a maximum width of 300 yards.

Wider weather episode

Ample instability paired with 50 kts of effective shear created a favorable environment for severe weather during the afternoon on June 7th. Convection that did develop came in the form of supercells, two of which produced tornadoes in southeast Missouri.
