EF0 Tornado — Jackson, Mississippi
2025-03-30 · near Wade, Jackson, Mississippi
Event narrative
An EF-0 tornado touched down near Hwy 614, west of Hurley, MS. Minor and patchy tree damage was predominantly observed via high resolution satellite imagery as most of the track was over inaccessible portions of Black Creek Swamp. The patches of tree damage were most evident right before the deepest tornado debris signatures were visible on WSR-88 radar KMOB near the beginning of the track and again near Gavin Hamilton Road. The tornado evidently weakened as it occluded northwest and the tornado debris signature dissipates not long after this point.
Wider weather episode
A weak mid level disturbance moved across the northern Gulf Coast on March 30th. This, combined with sufficient low level moisture as well as low level shear, aided in the development of a few severe thunderstorms that produced two weak tornadoes.
