What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

A brief EF0 tornado touched down just west of Vancleave, MS. Utilizing drone data from Jackson County Emergency Management, a short track was identified consisting of uprooted trees, large branches down and minor home damage.

The wider storm

A weak mid level disturbance moved across the northern Gulf Coast on March 30th. This, combined with sufficient low level moisture as well as low level shear, aided in the development of a few severe thunderstorms that produced two weak tornadoes.

Began near Vancleave (30.5400, -88.7900).
