A 27-year-old male died after collapsing at McLarty Motocross Park in Blount County due to a combination of heat stress and underlying health conditions. Heat index values from nearby ASOS stations were in the mid 90s, with temperatures around 88-90F.

Wider weather episode

Scattered convection occurred across Central Alabama during the afternoon of July 11. Two cells collided in southeast Lee County, with a microburst occurring in Smiths Station. The next day, a heat-related fatality occurred at a motocross park in Blount County.
