Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds blew down three trees with one along the 1900 block of Stultz Road, another near the intersection of Machinery Drive and Business Route 58, and the other about one mile northwest of Chatmoss that caused a traffic light to go out.

Wider weather episode

A cold front entered the Appalachian Mountains and produced numerous severe thunderstorms across southwest Virginia. Damaging wind gusts from these storms blew down numerous trees and power lines. A few of these trees fell on to two houses in Henry County, another house in Pittsylvania County, and a car in Halifax County.
