An automobile encountered an icy patch on Route 687 two tenths of a mile west of Route 793, causing the automobile to slide off the road and down an enbankment where it struck a tree. The driver was killed in the accident.
A dust devil lifted several large, tied-down canopy tents into the air. The canopies then dropped down onto a crowd of people. There were six minor injuries, with one person taken to the hospital.
