Event narrative
Thunderstorm winds blew down numerous trees and power lines across Henry County. Two houses about three miles south of the city of Martinsville were damaged due to trees falling on them and coming through their roofs.
Wider weather episode
A cold front entered the Appalachian Mountains and produced numerous severe thunderstorms across southwest Virginia. Damaging wind gusts from these storms blew down numerous trees and power lines. A few of these trees fell on to two houses in Henry County, another house in Pittsylvania County, and a car in Halifax County.
