Thunderstorm winds caused considerable tree damage and downed around 1 mile of power poles.

Wider weather episode

Elevated storms re-intensified in the early morning hours on the nose of the low-level jet. With effective shear around 30 knots and around 1000 J/kg MUCAPE, storms were able to organize into a short bowing segment, which produced a short path of damaging wind gusts across east central South Dakota with speeds measured up to around 75 mph.
