Event narrative

An EF-1 tornado started just west of Haynes Chapel Road and ended just after it moved east across Lake Road. A tornadic debris signature was noted on radar with this tornado, and several trees were uprooted or snapped as it crossed Haynes Chapel Road. Other minor tree damage was noted at Lake Road. Maximum estimated wind speeds were 90 mph.

Wider weather episode

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms developed across portions of Mississippi during the afternoon of May 25th before a west-east oriented squall line developed and spread southward overnight. Another squall line moved through on the 26th as a cold front moved east. Storms produced wind damage and hail.
