Event narrative

An EF-1 tornado touched down just north of Enterprise and tracked east-northeast through the Basic community and dissipated just east of Highway 45 in far southern Lauderdale County. Scattered trees were broken and uprooted along the path. Most of the tree damage was along county road 379 and 350. The maximum estimated wind speeds in Clarke County were 90 mph. The total path length was 8.77 miles across the two counties.

Wider weather episode

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms developed across portions of Mississippi during the afternoon of May 25th before a west-east oriented squall line developed and spread southward overnight. Another squall line moved through on the 26th as a cold front moved east. Storms produced wind damage and hail.
