Spotter measured a 56 knot wind gust on a Davis Weather Station at 10 meters.

A shortwave trough and associated cold front approached the area. Ahead of these features, the area destabilized to about 2000 J/kg of MLCAPE. Storms fired up along a pre-frontal trough and with the help of about 30 knots of Effective Bulk Shear several storms were able to become severe and produce damaging wind gusts.
