Four people died due to flooding at the Oakwood Plaza apartment complex on Irvington Avenue in Elizabeth. All four people were found in one apartment and included a 74 year old woman, her 71 year old husband, their 38 year old son, and a 33 year old neighbor.
An 83 year old man was found on Chestnut Street in Union Township near Overlook Hospital. He is believed to have drowned after his car got stuck and he walked out into 3-4 feet of water.
Trees and power lines were down at the intersection of Midway and Hunter Avenues just northwest of Fanwood. One of the wires fell on a vehicle. The occupant of the vehicle got out of the vehicle and was electrocuted, resulting in a fatality.
