Event narrative

A line of thunderstorms marched northward across west-central Montana with gusty outflow winds. A gust of 59 mph occurred between Avon and Finn along Highway 141. Similar gusts occurred across the Windy Rock Fire southwest of Finn. No damage was noted.

Wider weather episode

Abnormally high moisture amounts and considerable instability, along with a weak disturbance, induced a couple of rounds of thunderstorms.
