What the National Weather Service wrote

A 911 Call center report indicated a tree down along PR-2, close to km 131.1. The tree obstructed the roadway. Emergency management were dispatched to the scene. Impacts were associated with gusty winds from the outer bands of Hurricane Erin.

The wider storm

Major Hurricane Erin moved northeast and north of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Erin's Outer Bands and then Feeder Bands still affected the islands, producing strong thunderstorms, gusty winds, and heavy rains across the islands. Several reports of wind gust damage, along with reports of high surf, flooding and debris flow were received between August 16 to 18.
