Event narrative

Heavy rainfall caused Quebrada Los Muertos to overflow its banks, leading to flooding across PR-444 in Bo. Cuchillas. Video evidence shows water flowing over the roadway while at least one vehicle was observed crossing through the floodwaters.

Wider weather episode

Tropical moisture associated with a tropical wave and other trade wind perturbations, along with an upper-level trough resulted in the formation of strong showers and thunderstorms. These showers resulted in flooding, landslide and wind damage along portions of eastern, northern and western Puerto Rico.
