Showers and thunderstorms moved across the southern half of Minnesota into western Wisconsin during the evening hours of September 21st. The storm environment consisted of favorable instability, low cloud bases, and some veering winds with height. Although the shear profile was considered only marginal (weak) at the time, one storm in Wisconsin did manage to become severe. One line of storms developed over south central MN and moved into western St. Croix County where quarter size hail was reported one mile north of Hudson.
