Drought — Angelina, Texas

2025-12-01 to 2025-12-03 · Angelina, Texas

Wider weather episode

Severe (D2) drought conditions that developed across Angelina County Texas during mid-November persisted until the first several days of December, given nearly a month of above normal temperatures and much below normal rainfall with amounts generally near or less than a quarter of an inch. Several rounds of wetting rains fell across Deep East Texas during the final ten days of November into the first several days of December, with totals ranging from two and a half to in excess of four inches. These rains did provide adequate recharge of soil moisture such that drought conditions improved to D1 (moderate) by the December 4th issuance of the U.S. Drought Monitor.
