A Trained spotter reported 9.4 inches at 4 NNW New Fairfield. Cocorahs reported 7.0 inches in Bethel, 6.5 inches in Brookfield, 6.1 inches at 2.4 NNE Ridgefield, and 6.0 inches at 4.5 SSE Bethel.

Wider weather episode

A progressive shortwave from the west overran a cold high pressure system resulting in a significant snowfall across the region. Warm advection aloft was the main driver of the snowfall for much of the event. A significant snowfall occurred across Southern Connecticut.
