A five hour windowy of strong gusty winds were observed in the Laramie Valley, mainly during the late morning hours of Christmas day. Peak wind was 66 MPH, measured at both Laramie Airport ASOS and Herrick Lane WYDOT site along Interstate 80.

Persistent upper level jet stream remained over central Wyoming for Christmas day, resulting in periods of strong wind gusts of 60 to 70 MPH.
