Event narrative
Light snow resulted in slick road conditions during the morning hours of November 10, 2025 in Hardin County. Shortly before 6 AM, a vehicle lost control due to weather-related road conditions, crossed into the opposite lane, and collided with another vehicle. After the initial crash, a third vehicle struck one of the drivers involved in the crash. Both drivers from the initial crash were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. One of the drivers later died.

A deep upper level low dropped south into the Ohio Valley, bringing strong cold air advection and a healthy moisture plume off the Great Lakes. The combination of mid and upper-level forcing, very steep low-level lapse rates, and deep moisture led to the development of scattered to numerous convective snow showers and squalls from mid-morning through the afternoon hours of November 10, 2025. The snow showers caused hazardous and slick road conditions, which resulting in multiple vehicle accidents as well as injuries and fatalities.
