At approximately 8 PM, a 63 year old male was driving on Gilead Church Road when he drove into water over the roadway. He left his vehicle and drown. His body was found a short distance from his vehicle. The value of damage to the vehicle is unknown.
A restaurant sign fell on top of a vehicle in Elizabethtown, causing total destruction of the vehicle. Three people were inside the vehicle when the sign fell on it, with two fatalities and one injury occurring as a result of the incident.
Around a half inch of ice accumulated in Elizabethtown, Vine Grove, and Radcliff. Extensive tree damage occurred. Power outages were also reported. There was a fatal accident on Interstate 65 northbound at mile marker 91 in Elizabethtown.
Two soldiers at Fort Knox were struck by lightning while doing training outside. They were airlifted to the hospital where an 18 year old female eventually died from the injuries she sustained. The time is approximate.
