Event narrative

The AWOS Station located at New Richmond Municipal Airport reported a few hours of mixed precipitation. A CoCoRaHS observer reported a layer of sleet existed on their snowboard.

Wider weather episode

A small band of primarily freezing rain and sleet developed across southwestern Minnesota then tracked eastward into western Wisconsin. The band of precipitation produced an hour or two of a light wintry mix resulting in minor ice and sleet accumulation. As a result, slick travel conditions existed during the morning commute. Most of the ice accumulation occurred across St. Croix to Pepin Counties through Chippewa and Eau Claire Counties.
