A few observation sites in central Carbon County reported strong wind gusts over 58 MPH late in the evening on December 18th through the 19th. Peak wind gust of 66 MPH was measured at Rawlins Airport.
Wider weather episode
A potent jet stream moved over Wyoming and the high plains resulting in another round of strong gusty winds, and occasionally very strong winds across the wind prone areas of southeast Wyoming. Gusts of 60 to 70 MPH were common, with some gusts as high as 88 MPH.
