The northwestern half of the county was in D2 drought for the entire month of January.

A prolonged period of below-normal rainfall led to the development of severe drought (D2) conditions across northwestern portions of Wilkinson County. Rainfall deficits began in late November when only an inch and a half fell between then and the first week of January. Several inches of rain fell around January 10th, but then almost no rain the rest of the month.
