The mesonet site located three miles southeast of Dumas measured a single 60mph wind gust.

Wider weather episode

A cold front moved through the early morning hours on January 16th and brought gusty north winds. Though most areas observed wind gusts in the 45 to 57 mph range, there were a couple of instances where a 58 mph or higher wind gust was briefly measured.
