The ASOS station located at the Alexandria Airport observed approximately an hour of freezing rain. There was less than one tenth of ice accretion but did make travel conditions incredibly slippery.
The wider storm
A band of freezing rain moved across portions of central and southern MN. Despite ice accumulations accreting to less than a tenth of an inch, travel conditions were very slippery which results to numerous vehicle accidents and spin outs across the region.
