What the National Weather Service wrote

The CoCoRaHS site MI-SH-1 Manistique 2.7 NW reported 0.03 inches of ice and 2.1 inches of snow by 6 AM on the 19th. MRMS FRANA estimates of up to 0.3 inches of ice fell on the 18th. Key impacts: school closures, municipality closures, hazardous travel, power outages.

The wider storm

A deep occluded low approaching the UP from the west on the 18th brought a warm front just south of the UP and eventually the occluded front moved over the UP as the low weakened by the 19th. This brought a mess of heavy wet snow and freezing rain as well as high winds. Impacts included a majority of school districts closed, municipal facilities closed, power outages, and near-impassible roads.
