What EF2 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF2 is considerable damage: roofs torn off well-built houses, mobile homes destroyed, large trees snapped or uprooted, consistent with estimated gusts of 111–135 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

This tornado developed near the community of Keevil near the

intersection of AR Hwy 17 and Hildson Lane near the Union Pacific

Rail Road tracks. Debris evidence began with large limbs down in

the tree-line, and then the tornado tracked generally east

towards US HWY 49 when several power poles were snapped, and a

house and out-building were damaged. The tornado then crossed

Stoops Road where it completely destroyed an vacant 1930s farm

house resting on cinder blocks. Several large oak trees around

the house were all snapped in half. Along Stoops Rd, 24 power

poles were snapped in half as the tornado crossed the road. The

tornado then crossed another tree-line damaging a few more trees

before dissipating in the fields near Mopac Road. This tornado

produced maximum estimated wind speeds of 120 mph, consistent

with an EF-2 rating.
