The Police Department in Chinle reported the visibility in blowing dust was 100 yards down to almost zero at times. Spotters in Many Farms also reported visibility down to 100 yards in continuous blowing dust.

Wider weather episode

Strong southwest winds developed across northern Arizona ahead of a cold front moving in from the north. The strong winds caused areas of blowing dust the reduced the visibility from 5 miles down to 50 feet or less.
